Laura Straßer’s artistic research explores the question of the intangible value of craftsmanship,

particularly its history and relevance. She draws inspiration from anecdotes, peculiarities, and curiosities from the centuries-old materials tradition, reviving traditional or even forgotten techniques and reinterpreting them in her porcelain and ceramic products.

Since its founding in 2008, Studio Laura Straßer has evolved as a studio for design, product development and production support in porcelain and ceramic contexts. Straßer collaborates closely with production facilities in Germany and internationally at the development interface. She considers her physical proximity to the production of her products imperative to her design and development processes. By adopting a uniquely anthropological approach to her craft, rather than focusing solely on the final product, her work points towards the origins and stories embedded in their creation.
